Florida Conference Men’s Ministries 30th Anniversary Convention

 

Florida Conference Men's Ministries Convention invites all men ages 13+ for the 2023 Men's Ministries Convention, Marching Forward!

Derek Morris

President of Hope Channel Inc., the global Christian television network of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Derek Morris oversees the operations of the Hope Channel network of 43 affiliate channels, in addition to hosting the very popular Hope Sabbath School, authoring and more. He previously served as editor of Ministry Magazine. Derek holds a DMin in Preaching from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, Charlotte, North Carolina and another DMin in Practical Theology from Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Michigan.


Ron Smith

As president of Southern Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, Ron Smith leads the work of more than 250,000 church members, pastors, educators, and evangelists. He has served in the Seventh-day Adventist ministry for 40 years, including as senior pastor of Berean Church in Los Angeles, California, and Ephesus Church in Harlem, New York. He is also a registered clinical psychologist and marital and family therapist. Smith earned his PhD in psychology at Fuller Graduate School of Psychology, a DM from Colgate Rochester Divinity School, and MDiv from Andrews University Theological Seminary, and a BA from Oakwood University.


Minner Labrador

Dr. Minner Labrador, Jr. serves as Vice-President of the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists in Columbia, Maryland. Speaker for Live by Faith Ministries. He formerly served as president of the Upper Columbia Conference in the Northwest and in the Southwestern Union Conference as Vice President of Ministries; Ministerial Secretary, Men’s Ministries and Stewardship Director. Minner is a graduate of Southern Adventist University located in Collegedale, Tennessee; Andrews University located in Berrien Springs, Michigan; and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary located in Boston, Massachusetts. He completed his doctoral studies with a specialty in redemptive leadership and healthy organizational structures.


Allan Machado

Elected as the 24th president of the Florida Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in 2018, Allan Machado serves nearly 64,000 SDA members. Machado’s ministry has grown from the days of holding offices in his local church, to pastoral service, and then leading to administration positions on the conference level of lay ministry coordinator, ministerial field secretary, vice president of Spanish-language ministries, assistant to the president, executive secretary, and interim president.

  • ALL attendees must be registerd

  • Registration closes at midnight on Thursday, March 9, 2023

    • No registrations will be accepted after that date/time.

  • All housing is SHARED housing. No single rooms.

  • A non-refundable deposit of $72.50 applies to all reservations.

CHECK-IN:
Friday from 2:00-8:00pm, in Gym Room #2
If you are arriving by Charter Bus, please share this information with the Individual Reservations Registrar Stacy Stride at sdaretreats@campkulaqua.com as soon as possible so we will be better prepared to receive you.

LATE ARRIVAL (after 8:00pm):
If you will be arriving after 8:00pm, we will have a Ranger on duty ready to assist you. As you drive onto the dirt road please call our main number, 386.454.1351 then press 0 and our Ranger or the weekend manager will answer your call and let you know where to meet him/her so they can direct you. You will need to see us Sabbath morning in the Main Office to receive your Arm Band and Name Badge.

SABBATH CHECK-IN:
If you will be arriving Sabbath morning, please check-in at the Main Office and receive your name badge, arm band for meals, and any other materials we may have for you.

DISCOUNT:
Early Bird Overnight Discount; A $26.50 savings awaits all who register (with housing) before January 13th, 2023. Register early to receive this discount!

CANCELLATIONS:
A $72.50 non-refundable deposit will apply to all weekend reservations.

REFUNDS:
Refund Requests must be received in writing – or email – within 30 days after the event to be eligible for a refund. Any requests past the 30 days will not be accepted. Please note, all refunds will be based on the Early Bird rate.

LINENS:
If you are staying in the Mini Lodges or Cabins, you will need to provide your own bedding and towels. If you need to rent linens from Kulaqua, please make prior arrangement for linen packets in your online (or group) reservation. Our Linen Packet consists of Sheets, Blanket, Pillow, Towel set. You can reserve a Linen Packet for $13.00

FRIDAY SUPPER:
Friday's supper will be served in our cafeteria from 6:00pm-7:00pm.
If you anticipate your arrival time after 7:00pm, please be sure to find an eatery along the way so your belly will be happy and you’ll be ready for your soul to be filled!

ATTIRE:
Casual clothing is very acceptable throughout the weekend. Some choose to dress up more on Sabbath morning; it is up to you. You may want to bring a light jacket for early morning and evening.
